Today in class (1st, 2nd, and 4th period), students were introduced to two new fitness tests. Students performed 100 step-ups as well as the warm-up exercises for each test. Students learned the proper technique for both the trunk lift and v-sit & reach test. Then, they were given an opportunity to practice the tests within their groups. The official test for both of these will be performed tomorrow.

Students also turned in their vocabulary note cards.

Students in Coach Bray and Coach Patton's third period class did not meet today, due to the tripod survey. Tomorrow, these students will learn the proper technique as well as practice for both of the tests. These students will also turn in their vocabulary note cards at the beginning of class.

Reminder: students will need to have a white binder (1 inch or larger) for class... BEFORE FRIDAY! Students will be storing their Fitness Testing booklet and materials within the binder. There WILL be a binder check on Friday.

Students completed two fitness tests today. First, students performed 100 step-ups, as well as the other warm-up exercises for each of the fitness tests. Then they learned how to make predictions about their performance: "do you think your performance will fall within the healthy fitness zone?" Afterwards, students completed the curl-up and push-up tests, as well as graphed their results on their fitness testing sheets. 

Vocabulary notecards are due tomorrow for 1st period, 2nd period, and 4th period. 3rd period's notecards will be due Thursday when they return to class. 3rd period will meet in the library tomorrow due to the Tripod Survey.

Students will dress out for the remainder of the week, as well as Monday - Friday of next week.

Today in class, students were introduced to fitness testing. Students performed 100 step-ups for warm-up exercises, then learned and practiced the new warm-ups for fitness testing. The first three tests for the fitness testing unit were introduced to the class: curl-ups, push-ups, and the trunk lift. Students learned the proper technique for both the curl-ups and push-ups. Then, they were given an opportunity to practice the tests within their groups. The official test for all three will be performed tomorrow.

Students also turned in Out-of-Class Activity Logs.

Reminder: Students need to dress out Monday-Friday this week and next week!

Students took a Fitness Testing pre-test in class today. The pre-test covered material that the students will learn and practice over the course of the next two weeks. Also, students worked on their vocabulary note cards. The notecards  will be collected Wednesday, October 31. The Daily News was checked in class today as well. Students who had the Daily News recorded in their paper notebook received EXTRA CREDIT points!

Beginning Monday, October 29, students will begin the Fitness Testing unit. Students MUST be dressed out EVERYDAY, Monday through Friday, the next two weeks!

Students performed a cardiovascular and muscular fitness workout today. Coach Bray's classes went outside and practiced different Frisbee skills with partners. Students practiced how to properly grip, throw, and catch a Frisbee. Also, students were introduced to catching the Frisbee while moving, as well as throwing at a target.  

Students need to be recording the Daily News in their paper notebooks EVERYDAY!!! There will be a Daily News check tomorrow Friday, October 26 during each class! This check will count as a HOMEWORK grade!

Classes were shortened today due to the Honors Assembly. First and second period met in the gym. Third and fourth period did not meet.

Students need to be recording the Daily News in their paper notebooks EVERYDAY!!! There will be a Daily News check this Friday, October 26 during each class!

Students performed a cardiovascular and muscular fitness workout today. Coach Bray's classes performed an upper and a lower body muscular fitness workout. Students focused on their two exercises that they have chosen to graph on their charts.

Coach Patton's classes went outside and practiced different Frisbee skills with partners. Students learned how to properly grip, throw, and catch a Frisbee.

Coach Patton's classes performed an upper body muscular fitness workout. 

Students turned in their Out-of-Class Activity logs, as well as their Excel graphs and analyzing questions.

Classes were held in the library today. Students learned how to use Microsoft Excel to organize their exercise data and create graphs. They emailed their graphs and data to themseves, as well as to Coach Bray. Students also printed their graphs and answered reflective questions related to their data.

The reflective questions from today are as follows:
1. What does the graph illustrate about your progress toward improving your fitness?
2. Reflect on this past week's data. What do you need to do to improve your fitness?

Students are to answer the questions NO LESS THAN a paragraph a piece. They are to submit their answers and graphs on Monday!!!

Fourth period class was held outside today; students performed cardiovascular fitness exercises, as well as played games.

Students are to turn in their Out of Class Activity Logs every Monday! Students must reach 120 minutes of out-of-class physical activity! Also, students need to be recording the Daily News in their paper notebooks!
