Day 1 - First Day of School
I like to start students off expecting that what they learn in class each day is important. With that in mind, I give a quiz at the end of the first day or the beginning of the second day. This usually makes the students pay attention because they know I am going to assess them over what is being taught each day. Knowing Your Students
I usually do this Learning Styles Inventory with my students the first week of school. I talk to them about the three types of learning styles and then give them the inventory. Not only do I need to know their primary and secondary learning styles, but students, too need to be aware of how they learn best. Knowing your students is part of the new teacher evaluation beginning this school year as well.
